What If You Could Bank in Mixed Reality?

VR and AR are becoming a big deal lately. Everyone’s talking about how these tech trends are gonna change the way we do stuff not just in cool apps or devices, but in everyday life too.

But when it comes to banking? It’s still kinda stuck in the usual mobile and web thing. That got me thinking  what if we didn’t have to leave a VR or AR experience just to check our account or send some money? What if it all just... worked inside mixed reality?

That’s why I created EchoPay. It’s a concept for a banking app designed specially for Apple Vision Pro.

In this project tried to explore how banking could work in the future. I wanted to see how we can bring your whole bank right into your headset while making it easy to use, giving a good user experience.

Things I Kept in Mind While Designing EchoPay

1. Keep it Simple
Just because we’ve got all this 3D space in VR doesn’t mean we should throw a ton of info everywhere. That’s just gonna confuse people. So I focused on keeping things clean and easy to follow.

2. Make it Feel Real
If something feels too weird or fake, people won’t trust it. So I made sure the app feels kinda like real life. Smooth, natural, and not like your brain’s fighting with your eyes. The goal was to make stuff feel familiar, even if you’re in a headset.

3. Think in 3D, Not Flat
This isn't a phone screen. It's a whole space around you. So I had to stop thinking in 2D and start designing like you can reach out and actually grab stuff. It’s a whole different thing, and I had to make sure it felt right.

Alright, so here's the cool part, AR and VR open up a bunch of new ways to make banking faster and way easier than it is now.
But yeah, it’s not like everyone’s gonna ditch their phone or laptop overnight. That’s why I had to make sure whatever I design, this will be a good experience for everyone.

So now, let’s see how EchoPay UI design looks like.

The EchoPay home screen brings together the key features users need most in one smooth view.

  • Transaction History – A quick look at recent activities and transfers.

  • Payments – Easily send or receive money in just a few taps (or gestures).

  • Analytics – Track spending habits and manage budgets with visual insights.

  • AI Assistant – Get smart tips, alerts, and personalized financial advice.

Just Getting Started

EchoPay is more like a sneak peek of what could happen than trying to predict the exact future of banking.

If we want to be ready for what’s next, we’ve gotta start dreaming it up now. That’s why I made this. To show how future banking could feel inside mixed reality and maybe spark some ideas for others.

Tech keeps getting better, and users expect more. So if banks and companies want to stay on top, they need to step into the future, not wait for it.
